‘Haaland 2.0’ admits he supports Man Utd – and fans can’t wait for them to clash

A striker dubbed 'Erling Haaland 2.0' has admitted he supports Manchester United – leaving fans relishing the moment they potentially clash in the Premier League.

Rasmus Hojlund's been taking Europe by storm this season, bagging seven goals in 23 Serie A games for Atalanta since joining them last summer. The 20-year-old's also making his presence felt on the international stage where he's scored five goals, including a hat-trick against Finland, in two starts for Denmark during the international break.

The towering 6ft 3in striker's attacking prowess has seen him compared by fans to the prolific Manchester City ace Haaland. And after Holjund's admission that he's a huge United fan, supporters are licking their lips at a thought of an epic showdown between the pair.

Hojlund revealed when asked about the Red Devils: "Now that you ask, I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Man United fan. So, personally, it [playing for them] would be one of the biggest things for me.”

The ex-Sturm Graz striker's declaration caused a stir amongst supporters who billed his possible face-off with the City forward as 'Hojlund vs Haaland.' One fan on Twitter mused: "Hojlund Vs Haaland.. you can see Sky Sports licking their lips at that title."

A second user compared the clash to Cristiano Ronaldo's meet with Lionel Messi in the El Clasico, and added: "Ronaldo vs Messi on El Clasico, Haaland vs Hojlund on Manchester derby." Then a third person gushed: "Can't wait for Haaland vs Hojlund derby."

Fans may get their wish soon as reports claim United are interested in the £30m rated Hojlund, although they'll have to fend off Arsenal who are said to plotting a swoop for the forward too.

However, even if United manage to sign Hojlund, he may miss the chance to play against Haaland in the Premier League.

That's because Haaland's agent admitted a few months ago that the forward could be on the move in the summer if Real Madrid come knocking.
