Jack Grealish has furiously dismissed a claim he told his Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola 'where to go' during a sideline exchange that took place at the start of their Premier League opener.

Grealish was handed a start by Guardiola for their first league fixture of the season – and was seen talking to his manager after just three minutes had passed.

The following day, after a report purported what the England international was saying to the Spaniard, Grealish felt the need to lash out on his official Twitter account.

The initial post read 'Jack Grealish spotted telling Pep Guardiola where to go three minutes into Man City's win against West Ham'.

Grealish wrote in his reply to the now-deleted tweet: "F***in hell, everything you’ve just wrote did not happen what a shit irrelevant page!

"He was giving me tactical advice, ask him yourself if I said anything back to him."

Although Erling Haaland scored twice at the London Stadium to ensure all three points went back to Manchester, Guardiola said that the second goal belonged to his £100million winger.

He said: "We had a feeling we can look at him (Haaland) a bit more and will find him more – Gundo (Ilkay Gundogan) the first, Kevin (Kevin De Bruyne) the second.

"He can move more left, right. Now we have to do it again. The guys have to put the ball there. especially in transitions.

"The second goal was an incredible action for Jack, the goal belongs to him, he keeps the ball, dragged opponents, finds the perfect ball to Rodri, this happens with space and then Kevin is difficult to stop.

"We'll find many games five at the back in the box. we'll have to find alternatives."

Grealish managed three goals and three assists across a steady debut season at City, and will be looking to get off the mark in 22/23 when they take on Bournemouth next weekend.
