Granovskaia’s whopping net worth is so big she could afford to buy Everton
Chelsea transfer guru Marina Granovskaia is set to leave the Blues following their £4.25billion takeover – but her whopping net worth is so big she could afford to buy her own football club.
Granovskaia joined the Londoners back in 2003 and took control of transfers under the club's previous owner Roman Abramovich. The Russian-Canadian has forged a reputation for being a ruthless but shrewd operator in the market and has been behind some of the most impressive deals in the Premier League era.
Despite her success, the 47-year-old is poised to be the second high-profile exit from Stamford Bridge since Todd Boehly purchased the club, after chairman Bruce Buck announced he was stepping down on Monday.
Confirmation of Granovskaia's exit is expected to be confirmed imminently – although she is due to walk off into the sunset with a cool £20m bonus for her role in the sale of the club, according to The Times.
But that £20m payout is merely a drop in the ocean for Granovskaia, who is worth an estimated £1.55bn – a sum that would enough to purchase Everton, who have reportedly been put up for sale by Farhad Moshiri, if she wished to do so. Ironically, Moshiri is negotiating a deal for the Toffees with a consortium led by Peter Kenyon, who previously held the CEO position at Stamford Bridge.
Granovskaia's sterling work over the past 19 years was recognised back in December, when she was named as the best club director in European football at the Golden Boy awards. However, the Blues transfer guru hasn't always got it right in the market.

Chelsea are currently trying to offload mega-money flop Romelu Lukaku – just 12 months after they shelled out a club-record £97.5m to bring him back to the club.
The Belgian striker's second spell in London has been an unmitigated disaster and Chelsea are trying to thrash out a loan deal with Inter Milan to get his whopping £325,000-a-week wages off the books.
The Blues new co-owner, Boehly, is reportedly personally overseeing the negotiations with Inter and is expected to hand Thomas Tuchel more power when it comes to recruitment once Granovskaia leaves the club.
