Gianluigi Buffon names his top five teammates ever including Cristiano Ronaldo
Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon has revealed Manchester United sensation Cristiano Ronaldo is one of his top five greatest-ever teammates.
Now captain of Serie B outfit Parma, Buffon, 44, linked up with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner on his return from PSG, claiming two Serie A titles and the Coppa Italia before Ronaldo opted to head back to the Premier League for the start of the 2021/22 season.
Pummelling 101 goals in 134 appearances for the Old Lady, Ronaldo was one of five ex-non-Italian team-mates Buffon praised as head and shoulders above the rest with Lilian Thuram, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Zlatan Ibrahimovic completing the quintet.

"I can’t pick a name maybe I’m conditioned by the relationships with them," Buffon told ParmaLive. "I cannot name the five strongest Italian attackers because otherwise, I will mention 108. As for foreigners, I’d say Thuram, Neymar, Mbappe, CR7, and Ibra."
Ending his three-year stint in Turin last summer, Ronaldo re-joined Manchester United for a cool £12.5million and his arrival was met with huge expectation around Old Trafford.

Finishing the behind-closed-doors 20/21 campaign second behind noisy neighbours Manchester City, the Red Devils, having also added Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho to their star-studded squad, were tipped as title challengers – but instead plummeted to their worst ever Premier League finish.
Despite bagging a respectable 24 goals in 38 appearances, Ronaldo was unable to prevent United's catastrophic nosedive and, just 12 months later, is desperate to end his homecoming nightmare – however, potential moves to Chelsea, Barcelona and PSG have all fallen at the first hurdle.
Still yet to return to pre-season training due to a family issue, Erik ten Hag refused to comment on speculation surrounding his star striker, insisting Ronaldo will not be leaving Old Trafford in the transfer window and that he could even extend his stay.
"I am well informed – he also has an option [for a further season]," the Dutchman told reporters. "Yes, [Ronaldo could stay beyond this season]. Of course, I have signed here for three years but in football, it’s short-term as well. We have to win from the start. So, I don’t look that far ahead."
