Germany team booed by cheeky schoolkids as they arrive at hotel for England game
Germany won’t have expected a warm reception upon entering English territory ahead of their clash in the last 16 of Euro 2020—and a group of schoolkids ensured they didn’t receive one either.
Having been delayed in their arrival from Germany due to poor weather conditions, Die Mannschaft finally touched down in London on Monday.
And amid the clamour for attention from their superstars en route to check in, some children in attendance made it known that Germany were still entering enemy territory.
After watching the squad disembark their team coach and filter into the hotel, The Sun caught video of a group of kids who could be heard booing the guests alongside chants of: “Who are ya?”
It made for a comical contrast considering those in attendance could be heard trying to get the attention of players like Antonio Rudiger, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry shortly prior.
Joachim Low and his players appeared unfazed by the chorus ringing outside their hotel, seemingly focused on the task awaiting them at Wembley on Tuesday.
Germany drew 2-2 against Hungary on the last day of the pool stage to advance as runners-up in Group F, while England topped Group D ahead of Croatia and the Czech Republic.
Low won the 2014 World Cup with Germany but is approaching the end of his 15-year stay at the national team helm, with Hansi Flick waiting to take over this summer.

The midweek matchup will be the first time these countries have faced one another since November 2017, although their last encounter at a major tournament was back in June 2010.
The Three Lions defeated their German counterparts 1-0 when they last met at a European Championship in 2000.
However, England have been knocked out by their old rivals in four of their five knockout meetings at major tournaments.
Manager Gareth Southgate is hopeful he’ll have Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell back in the squad after they served a period of isolation following a Covid-19 scare.
Low and Co. are sure to be given an even colder reception when they line up at Wembley, with 45,000 fans permitted to be in attendance on Tuesday.
The hosts will have to step up their game compared to the group stage, where they failed to concede a single goal but also scored just twice, the fewest of any team to reach the last 16.
