Gary Neville calls on Ronaldo and Fernandes to stop ‘flailing arms’ at teammates
Gary Neville has called out the efforts of Manchester United stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes while considering where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been going wrong this season.
The former England defender, who won eight Premier League titles under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson between 1996 and 2009, isn't happy with their current predicament.
Although plenty of criticism has been aimed at Paul Pogba for their recent shortcomings, Neville has pointed out that there are other players who might deserve some blame.
He went on to explain what he saw of Portuguese pair Ronaldo and Fernandes during their capitulation against Leicester, with both players failing to have a telling impact.
He said on MNF: "I’ve had my issues with Paul Pogba over the last two years generally, I’ve my issues with his agent.
"Honestly, it’s like having a windscreen with six cracks in it which you have to change anyway. But you think the one crack, Paul Pogba, is the one you have to focus on.
"I don’t believe this is a Paul Pogba problem and the reason I say that is because on Saturday I watched Ronaldo and Fernandes up top, nothing apart from flailing their arms at their team-mates a few times, that needs to stop.
"Wide players with no intensity in their pressing."

Neville wants to see the 2019 Nations League winning pair do more in pressing from the front, and admitted that his former team-mate is under pressure in the dug-out.
He said: "He should be under massive pressure because he’s been there for two years, 100 per cent.
"But the club are not going to change him. I have Manchester United fans on my social media saying you won’t call him out because he’s your mate. No I won’t.
"I won’t call out any manager and ask for them to be sacked.
"He’s my former team-mate and I actually like him a lot, Manchester United have failed with two managers who are perceived as world class. I think you give him until the end of the season.
"I disagree with Jamie (Carragher), if you win a trophy and finish in the top four, that is progress. The pressure is building though, what a collection of players, he has to get them to perform."
