Gary Lineker makes Man Utd ace Hojlund prediction after watching him ‘closely’
Gary Lineker has given his backing to Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund, believing Erik ten Hag’s £72million man has what’s needed to be a success at Old Trafford.
Fresh of the back of netting his first United goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, Hojlund completed his first 90 minutes as a United player during the Red Devils’ hard-fought 1-0 away win against Burnley.
Hojlund, 20, was unable to get himself on the scoresheet but was a constant threat throughout, seeing a goalbound effort blocked and finally allowing United to play off and towards a dynamic and threatening number nine.

The win at Burnley was Hojlund’s first in a United shirt after previously tasting defeat in the Premier League against Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion, in which he was a focal point and threat throughout, before notching his first goal against Bayern.
And the Denmark international’s fan club has seemingly grown after he was given the seal of approval by England’s former all-time top scorer Gary Lineker, who analysed his performance against Burnley.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Lineker admitted he’s expecting big things from the Dane. He said: "I have watched him in his first two or three games and he has only scored one goal, against Bayern, but he looks to me like he will score goals. I like his movement."
Lineker wasn’t the only pundit to be impressed by Hojlund’s performance, with Danny Murphy also praising the striker’s willingness to find space.
Murphy added: "The goal in midweek will do him the world of good and while he didn't score today, he got into positions that I always think strikers should be in. On another day, he would score because he keeps making really good runs. There are a lot of positives for him."
Hojlund is sure to be key to United’s season with the Dane playing alongside Marcus Rashford in a flexible two striker attack at Turf Moor. The pair showed glimpses of linking up rather than flurries, but their understanding on the pitch will be fundamental to any success for Ten Hag’s side.
