Gareth Bale scores incredible solo goal for LAFC as fans label it ‘outrageous’

Gareth Bale rolled back the years to score one of his trademark brilliant solo goals as Los Angeles FC demolished Real Salt Lake on Saturday night.

Former Tottenham and Real Madrid forward Bale has bagged all types of magnificent strikes over the course of his career, but he's probably best-known for his marauding individual efforts. The Welshman burst onto the scene with a superb hat-trick against Inter Milan in 2010 that included a brilliant solo goal.

While few can forget his wonderful run and finish against Barcelona in the 2014 Copa del Rey final. The 33-year-old rolled back the years on Saturday evening to score a similar goal in only his fourth MLS appearance.

Receiving the ball just inside the opposition half, Bale teased one of the Salt Lake defenders before advancing into the box, carving out an angle and unleashing a wonderful left-footed strike beyond the goalkeeper.

It was one to savour for the Welsh wizard, who wheeled away in celebration with his team-mates by the dugout. It confirmed a 4-1 victory for LAFC to put them six points clear of Austin FC at the top of the Western Conference.

"The club is doing an amazing job to kind of progress me and not pushing me too quick, so I'm starting to feel better and better each day as training goes on.

"I'm enjoying it here. Everybody at the club has made me feel very welcome very quickly and I feel very settled straight away, and I think any player will tell you if they feel happy and settled, they start to play their best football."
