Gareth Bale ‘offers himself’ to Getafe with Wales star’s family happy in Madrid

Gareth Bale has reportedly offered himself to Getafe in his bid to find a new club with his family happy and settled in Madrid.

The 32-year-old is looking for a new club this summer as he prepares to leave Real Madrid when his contract expires after nine years with the club. Fresh from helping Wales qualify for their first World Cup in 64 years, Bale is keen to stay match fit until the tournament in Qatar gets underway in November.

Getafe have now been given the chance to sign Bale, with their stadium just 20 minutes from his home in the Spanish capital.

Club president Angel Torres has confirmed the approach from Bale's representatives, explaining, via the Daily Mail: “I spoke with the player's agent this morning. He has been offered to us. We will consider it. I am going to have to speak to the technical staff.”

The Daily Mail also report that Bale is keen to stay in Madrid, with his family having settled in the city after arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

During his time with Los Blancos, Bale made 258 appearances, scoring 106 goals and adding 67 assists, although he was limited to just seven appearances last season. He also won five Champions Leagues, three league titles and one Spanish Cup with the club.

Bale has also scored five goals and grabbed three assists in his nine meetings with Getafe, which have produced eight wins and one draw.

Getafe finished 15th in La Liga last season and are currently preparing for their fifth consecutive season in the top flight. Managed by former Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores, they are also Madrid's third club behind Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Wales captain Bale has received numerous offers since his exit from Real Madrid was confirmed but he is said to be keen to stay in Spain until the World Cup. Ally McCoist has even urged Bale to join his beloved Rangers and told the avid golfer that Scotland has "the best golf courses".
