Gareth Bale adamant with his verdict on Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Man Utd
Gareth Bale expects former Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo to set the Premier League alight again after securing an emotional return to Manchester United.
Ronaldo is back at Old Trafford 12 years after departing to join Madrid for a then-world-record £80million fee, calling time on his three-year stay at Juventus to pen a two-year deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
The Portuguese superstar returns as one of the greatest players to ever grace the game, having scored 551 goals in 572 games while claiming another four Ballon d'Ors and as many Champions Leagues since his United exit back in 2009.
His legacy as an all-time great was secured at Madrid, with a frightening return of 450 goals in 438 games inspiring Los Blancos to four Champions League titles – three of which came consecutively.
Ronaldo won all of those European crowns alongside Bale, who is back to play a starring role at the Bernabeu this season under Carlo Ancelotti after spending last term on loan with former club Tottenham.

The Welshman believes his former Real colleague will hit the ground running in England again, tipping him to "do well and score a lot of goals" for United.
“I'm sure he will do well," Bale said while on international duty with Wales.
“He's proven it before in the Premier League so he understands the league.

How Man Utd will celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo's historic Old Trafford return on Saturday
The 36-year-old's international break with Portugal was cut short last week when he picked up a yellow card for celebrating his 96th-minute winner against Ireland by taking his shirt off, which earned him a one-match suspension.
He was therefore able to head to Manchester earlier than expected ahead of his potential second United debut against Newcastle this Saturday.
