Furious Mauricio Pochettino wanted to "kill" Tottenham stars after 5-1 thrashing
The Tottenham Hotspur job is a position accompanied with several stress and heart warnings.
And former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino found out exactly that at the end of the 2015-16 season, when he watched his side get thrashed 5-1 by Newcastle United in their final Premier League match of the campaign.
The North Londoners’ heavy defeat at St James’ Park resulted in Pochettino’s side dropping down to third place, despite being Leicester City’s closest title rival throughout the season.
Fast-forward to the present day and Pochettino is now the front runner to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United manager.
And United stars should be warned, as the current Paris Saint-Germain boss was so angry with Spurs’ horrible loss at St James’ Park all those years ago, that he said he wanted to “kill his players” after the match.
"I just told them, 'If I have the opportunity to kill you then I kill everyone” said the Argentinean boss.
"I wanted to kill all of them. And I did not have the opportunity to kill them. I kill myself too."
Georginio Wijnaldum began the Newcastle goal fest after 19 minutes, before Aleksandar Mitrovic doubled their lead just before half-time.

A route back into the contest appeared for the North Londoners when Erik Lamela halved the deficit, before Mitrovic was sent off seven minutes later.
But Newcastle only went up another level when Wijnaldum scored a second from the penalty spot, before Rolando Aarons and Daryl Janmaat both found the net at the very end of the match.
Pochettino said he kept his thoughts of their dire performance to himself, and waited until their pre-season tour the following summer to let rip at his side.
"What did they do wrong? A lot of things,” said the now Paris Saint-Germain manager.
"Football is tactical, physical, technical, but it is also mental. More mental than many years ago.”
Pochettino is currently one of the front-runners to replace Solskjaer as manager of the Red Devils.
