Frankfurt ball boy fires cheeky message to David Moyes after confrontation
The ball boy who was millimetres away from having a football volleyed at him by David Moyes has sent a cheeky message to the West Ham boss.
David Moyes was shown a red card as his frustration boiled over when he volleyed a shortly thrown ball at a young ball boy on the sidelines during his side's 1-0 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League. The second leg tie saw West Ham dumped out of the European competition, with Creswell also being shown a red card not even 20 minutes into the game.
The Scotsman stole the headlines however when he took aim at the child. After Moyes was given his marching orders, the long-haired lad sarcastically waved goodbye to the 59-year-old former Manchester United manager.
Moyes was quick to apologise after the match and said: "Yeah, I kicked a ball back at the ball boy and I apologise for that. He threw it very softly at me." Since the Hammers' bubble burst, the Daily Mail has reported on what the ball boy has said.
Eintracht Frankfurt have decided not to take things further after the club had a meeting with UEFA on Friday and have decided to keep the youth's identity anonymous. The newspaper has reported however that the youngster said: "What did he expect from me… to put the goal in the Eintracht net for him?"
