Frank Lampard wants fellow Chelsea hero Ashley Cole as assistant at Everton
Frank Lampard is said to want fellow Chelsea hero Ashley Cole to join him at Everton as his new assistant manager.
Lampard has arrived at Goodison Park without a right hand man after Jody Morris, who worked alongside him in his two previous managerial roles, failed to follow him.
The pair are said to have clashed when making decisions at Stamford Bridge.
So that means there is now a vacancy as Lampard prepares to announce his backroom staff following the confirmation of Rafa Benitez's successor on Monday afternoon.
And it is his former club and country team-mate Cole who looks set to fill the position.
That's according to JOE, who report the ex-England left-back is headed to Merseyside.
There have been conflicting claims about the role Cole will fulfil, as the Evening Standard merely suggested he will be involved in some capacity.
As far as the rest of the set-up goes, Chelsea coach Joe Edwards has left Thomas Tuchel behind to link up with Lampard.
Chris Jones, who was a part of the team at Derby, will also join along with Carlo Ancelotti's former assistant Paul Clement.

But while Cole is set to ditch his current role with Chelsea's academy, Lampard's former colleague Anthony Barry will remain with the reigning European champions.
Upon his announcement, Lampard said: "It is a huge honour for me to represent and manage a club the size and tradition of Everton Football Club. I'm very hungry to get started.
"After speaking to the owner, chairman and the board, I very much felt their passion and ambition. I hope they felt my ambition and how hard I want to work to bring it together.
"You can feel the passion Everton fans have for their club. That will be hugely important. As a team – the competitive level that the Premier League brings and the position we are in the table – we certainly need that. It's a two-way thing.
"I think Everton is a unique club in that you can really understand what the fans want to see. The first thing they want is fight and desire and that must always be our baseline."
"My first message to the players will be that we have to do this together. We'll try to do our job and I know the fans will be there backing us."
