Four Liverpool stars knocking on Jurgen Klopp’s door after teenager shines in friendly
Liverpool’s exploits in the summer transfer market will be crucial as they look to bounce back from a poor defence of their Premier League title. But there are also several young stars shining at youth level that will be knocking on the door for a first-team chance in the near future.
The Anfield club’s move to a brand-new state-of-the-art training centre, relocating from Melwood to Kirby was a deliberate ploy.
Jurgen Klopp’s side now train at the AXA Training Complex, right next to the academy facilities so the German boss can keep a watchful eye over the club’s emerging talents.
“The redevelopment of the club’s Academy site and its new Training Centre underlines our unwavering commitment to the club,” chairman Tom Werner explained after investing in the training setup.
“This major investment not only mirrors our success both on and off the pitch but is also a vital step in the club’s continued growth, delivering state-of-the-art facilities and amenities that you would expect for a club of our stature.

It will also provide an aspirational and inspirational pathway for our young players at the Academy to senior level where we hope they will one day make their debut for Liverpool FC.”
The pathway for the first team could be cleared for January signing Kaide Gordon, who impressed in a friendly win over Tottenham at the Academy.
Gordon, who signed from Derby County, missed a penalty but bounced back to score and win another spot-kick in a 4-1 victory.
There are high hopes for the 16-year-old, who has already featured for the U23 side.

Gordon could be nurtured as a long-term replacement for the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane should he continue his development.
Harvey Elliot is another teenager with high hopes at Anfield and the 18-year-old will hope to make his mark at Merseyside after a successful loan spell at Blackburn Rovers.
Elliott, made 18 goal contributions in 31 Championship starts last season, and is one of the country’s finest young prospects.
Meanwhile, another youngster who impressed on loan in the second division is Sepp van den Berg.
The versatile defensive option, 19, has progressed at Preston North End this term.
However, a second loan spell could be beneficial for van den Berg with game time expected to be limited due to the return of the likes of Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez next season.
Polish youth starlet Mateusz Musialowski is another player making waves at Kirby.
The u18 regular had a stunning goal record in his native Poland before making the switch to Anfield, and has already trained with Klopp’s first-team squad.
Musialowski signed from SMS Lodz last summer and has been progressing well, so there is every chance he could be given his first-team bout next term if he shines in pre-season.
