A hilarious glitch in the popular video game Football Manager has seen Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane ruled out with injury for 27 years.
The England captain, 29, has so far been lucky to avoid any major traumas in his career – his longest spell on the sidelines came in 2020 when he missed 14 matches due to a thigh muscle rupture and Kane will be hoping the Football Manager pitfall is not an indication of any bad fortune heading his way.
The obvious hitch was pointed out on Twitter by the famed account 'Out of Context Football Manager' who boast over 213,000 followers.
A screengrab of the save shows Kane informing his virtual boss "I've been told I'll be out for around 27 years," meaning he'll be back fighting fit for the start of the 2049/50 season – Tottenham may even have won some silverware by that stage.
And the autogenerated response was even more amusing as the user chose to reply: "Well, you're in my thoughts and I hope you get better soon."
The now-viral post has been lapped up by football fans on social media with many using the hilarious glitch to send a sly jibe towards Tottenham. "Ahhh the Darren Anderton bug in football manager lol," posted one fan.

"Still got more chance than winning a club trophy than the real Kane," slammed another. "Will be like a new signing when he returns though," joked a third.
While a rival Premier League fan took aim at Daniel Levy's refusal to sanction Kane's move to Manchester City last summer, quipping: "I think Levy refused to sell him again."
The Spurs star ranks fifth in the Premier League all-time top scorers chart and needs 78 more goals to beat Alan Shearer's record of 260. Averaging a goal every 138 minutes, Kane needs to stay injury-free for around three and a half seasons to claim the record at his current scoring rate and a 27-year injury would undoubtedly lessen his chances.
