Fans urge Andrea Pirlo to stay clear of Arsenal with ex-Juventus boss in London
Football fans have warned Andrea Pirlo to stay away from a potential job at Arsenal after the Italian posted a tweet with the caption "London calling" on Transfer Deadline Day.
The two-time Champions League winner is out of work since leaving Juventus at the end of last season – his only managerial job to date.
The 42-year-old was replaced by Massimiliano Allegri, who returns to Turin after a two-year absence.
After nine straight Scudettos, Pirlo was only able to guide Juve to a dreary fourth-place in Serie A and left the club after only one season in charge.
A change of scenery may be favourable for the Italian but Pirlo has been urged to avoid the Emirates; the Gunners have been a poisoned chalice for managers in recent years.
The warnings began on Tuesday afternoon after the former AC Milan midfielder posted a photo of himself enjoying some downtime in the English capital with the caption "London Calling."
Pirlo was snapped in a blazer and jeans, nonchalantly crossing at some traffic lights outside Maison Assouline in Westminster.
The photo has been liked by over 30,000 of his 2.9 million Twitter following but many also left concerns, warning Pirlo to stay away from a potential job at Arsenal:
