Fans think John Terry will "boil p***" after calling Rice "best DM in the world"

Chelsea fans have reacted to John Terry's tweet about Declan Rice and think it will "boil p***" after he labelled the West Ham United midfielder the "best in the world" at his position.

The former Blues captain joined Twitter on Saturday and heaped praise on Rice following the Hammers' 3-2 win over Liverpool on Sunday.

The result lifted David Moyes' side up into third in the Premier League, with Rice continuing his fine form from the Euros into his performances for the club this season.

Following Sunday's win, Rice tweeted a picture of himself and teammate Tomas Soucek, captioned: “Tommy boyyyyyy! What a win, let’s gooooo.”

Terry then quote tweeted this and wrote: “Declan Rice is the best in his position in world football. What a player.”

While many Chelsea fans agreed with Terry, they also felt that his comment would anger West Ham fans hopeful of keeping one of their key men despite interest from elsewhere.

Chelsea are joined by Manchester City and Manchester United in being linked with a move for the England international.

One fan commented on Terry's tweet writing: “This is a p*** boiler for some but keep up that prop JT.”

Who will Declan Rice be playing for next season? Let us know in the comments section below.

Meanwhile, another Blues supporter added: "Get ready for loads of hate on this, JT."

Terry has already made a splash since joining Twitter at the weekend, after he destroyed a fan who made a 'wife' joke after he was welcomed to the platform by Kevin Pietersen.

The former England skipper is currently looking for his first job in management, after leaving his role as Aston Villa assistant manager at the end of last season.

During his playing career, Terry made over 700 appearances for Chelsea and won 17 major trophies at the club, including five league titles and the Champions League.

He had started his career in West Ham's academy before moving to Chelsea at the age of 15.

Similarly, Rice started out in Chelsea's youth system before joining the Hammers aged 14 and has gone on to become a key man at the London Stadium.

So far this season, Rice has scored three goals and has played every match in the league and the Europa League.
