Fans spot ‘fuming’ Todd Boehly’s reaction as Chelsea’s Fofana misses open goal

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly fell back into his seat after watching David Datro Fofana miss a golden chance to score in their goalless draw against Fulham.

The US businessman has overseen £566million in incoming deals but that wasn't enough for Graham Potter's men to beat their west London rivals who sit three places above them in the Premier League table.

One particular reaction of Boehly in the stands was spotted by Sky Sports cameras, with Fofana rounding Bernd Leno but failing to score in the 80th minute.

The 20-year-old Ivory Coast international, who signed from Molde in January, couldn't sort his feet out fast enough after beating Issa Diop with Tim Ream clearing his weak effort off the line.

Following Boehly's reaction, one fan tweeted: "We were all Todd Boehly after that Fofana shot."

A second said: "Boehly bout to empty out the whole club fund, he’s fuuuuuuming."

A cheeky Manchester United fan said: "Someone please find a picture of that Boehly eye roll. The face of a man that can’t get a win after spending 600 million."

Having lost to Fulham at Craven Cottage in early January, Chelsea's January spending toppled £300m before their 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking of the game on Sky Sports, Gary Neville said: "Everything was really basic from Chelsea.

"I think it’s because Graham Potter hasn’t had time to work with them, he hasn’t had time to develop them. He’s going to need some time here.

"The front line needs to improve, the midfield needs to improve, so even though they’ve spent £600m I looked at every department I thought they need to get a lot better.

"Whether that is worry or in time it will come. I wasn’t that impressed. It’s going to take a lot of time for players to settle in.

"You can’t get away from the money. It’s jaw-dropping, staggering. £600m have been spent. They are going to need to be patient as no-one has done this before. And it’s easy to see why as it’s so difficult to put a team together."
