Fans say Liverpool have ‘worst Premier League defence’ after Brighton defeat
Liverpool's defence has been called the worst in the Premier League by bemused rival fans after Jurgen Klopp's men lost 3-0 at Brighton – and it could've been by more.
Klopp has called the defeat his worst team performance of his managerial career with Solly March scoring twice and Danny Welbeck also on target as Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate came in for criticism.
A rival fan wrote on Twitter: "I honestly don’t think it’s a controversial anymore to say that Liverpool are the worst defence in the Premier League."

A second said: "Without significant investment in the midfield Liverpool will finish low down the premier league, the defence and the midfield are no longer fit for purpose. Its that bad."
A third agreed: "That's as bad a Liverpool performance as I've seen in a long time. Offered absolutely nothing in attack or defence."
As a fourth concluded: "Why's Klopp looking for a new midfielder if their defence is s***?"

Speaking after the game, Klopp said: "I'm not sure if it was just because it was a few minutes ago but I can't remember a worse game [in his managerial career].
"Not only at Liverpool. It's a real low point.
"I didn't say a lot to the boys straight after the game as I didn't think there was much I could say that would have helped."
Liverpool's run has seen them drop to eighth in the Premier League table and seven points behind fourth-placed Newcastle 18 fixtures in the campaign.
The Reds sit 10 points behind Erik ten Hag's Manchester United and a full 16 behind leaders Arsenal who have a game in hand against rivals Tottenham.
Liverpool remain in the hunt for FA Cup and Champions League glory away from the league campaign, taking on Wolves in a replay and Real Madrid respectively.
