Fans rage at BT Sport as they miss start of Real Madrid vs Man City extra time

Fans were left fuming at BT Sport's "shocking" coverage of Manchester City's Champions League semi-final defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

The match itself left nothing to be desired as Real launched one of the most spectacular comebacks of all time, going from 5-3 down on aggregate to win 6-5 after two stoppage time goals from Rodrygo.

But broadcasters BT Sport sparked the wrath of fans after missing the start of extra-time, which was shown seconds late due to adverts running over. In a thrilling game where viewers revered every second, fans were left raging at the mishap on Twitter

One tweeted: "Wow that’s pretty shocking to miss the start of extra time."

Another added: "Did BT Sport really just miss the start of extra time because they were playing adverts? That’s shocking!!!"

Riyad Mahrez's 73rd minute strike looked to have cemented City's place in the final, with heart-broken Real fans sneaking out of the Bernabeu early. But a phenomenal two minutes by Brazilian substitute Rodrygo turned the tide in an instant by scoring two goals in stoppage time to force additional play.

The match was won for Real by talisman and skipper Karim Benzema, who was brought down in the box by Ruben Dias just after extra-time kicked off. The Frenchman calmly converted the penalty as he did in the previous leg to send Los Blancos on their way to a potential 14th Champions League title.
