Fans buzz as they remember Liverpool have parade despite Prem and UCL failures
Rival fans have been left buzzing after remembering that Liverpool are holding a trophy parade on Sunday, despite failing to win the Premier League or Champions League.
The Reds were pipped to the league title by Manchester City on the final day of the season. They then took on Real Madrid in the European Cup final on Saturday night, but saw Vinicius score just before the hour mark to win the game for Los Blancos.
Liverpool failed to convert any of the 24 shots they had on Madrid's goal at the Stade de France. It leaves them having won just two of the quadruple they had been aiming for just a couple of weeks ago.
Despite that failure, the Reds are still holding a trophy parade to show off the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. It was an event that was announced nine days ago following an invitation from the Mayor of Liverpool, Joanne Anderson, with rival fans now digging the news out to laugh at Liverpool fans.
"Liverpool trophy parade tomorrow yassss," one said. Another added: "Trophy parade for League and FA Cup looking real funny in the light." A third said: "‘quad squad’ plays in 3 finals and doesn’t score. Enjoy that trophy parade with a league cup and FA cup won on penalties lads!"
A fourth said: "They can enjoy their trophy parade with the Mickey Mouse cups, they bottled it when it mattered most with PL and CL love to see it." While a fifth concluded: "They gonna do a trophy parade for two Mickey mouse trophies."

Liverpool fans also called on the club to cancel the parade following Saturday's disappointment. One said: "But but we have a trophy parade on sunday, tinpot trophies," while another added: "Someone needs to cancel the trophy parade tomorrow it cannot happen."
Indeed, fans were certainly left divided over Liverpool's plans to hold a trophy parade following an heartbreaking finale to their season. Just under a week ago, Jurgen Klopp's side were in with a chance of landing an historic quadruple.
But Manchester City pipped them to the Premier League last Sunday and now on Saturday, Real Madrid claimed bragging rights in the Champions League final. Klopp and his side will now have to bounce back and go again next season.
