Fan who barged Eddie Howe led away by ‘Triple H’ as fans all make same joke

The last thing Eddie Howe was expecting to happen to him at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon was to confronted by an angry Leeds United supporter.

So when the Newcastle United boss turned around in his technical area to find a fan squaring up to him, you could see Howe was clearly bemused.

However, the incident was swiftly dealt with after the fan shoved Howe thanks to a member of the stadium's security who looked curiously like 'wrestler' Triple H. The bearded man jumped off the Magpies bench along with other security guards to escort the supporter away from the touchline.

Of course, the security guard wasn't actually Triple H, but he looked to be a spitting image of the world famous wrestler. Clearly in good shape, the bald security guard also had a distinctive beard that looked similar to the WWE legend.

And of course, football fans across the country were left bemused by 'Triple H's' cameo at Elland Road.

One fan wrote: "HHH security ltd by the looks of it." Another added: "Good thing triple h was there."

A third wrote: "Triple H was having none of it."

A fourth commented: "Triple H comes to protect Eddie Howe, absolute scenes, get this on at SummerSlam."

The encounter happened midway through injury time in what proved to be a breathless game of football that finished 2-2. Having taken the lead early on, Leeds found themselves trailing in the second half following a brace of Callum Wilson penalties.

However, Sam Allardyce's side managed to find an equaliser through Rasmus Kristensen, whose strike deflected off Kieran Trippier's head past Nick Pope in the Newcastle net.

And speaking in his post match press conference, Howe said of the incident: "It makes you think, 'What if?'. No-one should have to face that, to feel your own personal safety violated. Security is paramount. We have to be mindful."
