Fabio Capello ‘threw butter and screamed’ during first meal as England boss
Fabio Capello is a scary man … I think most of us would agree to that.
Over the years, dozens of former England stars have confirmed the Italian's short-tempered mafia boss-esque displays on the touchline weren't just for the cameras, though the way he emasculated assistant manager, and well known hard nut, Stuart Pearce at the 2010 World Cup should have been evidence enough.
According to former Three Lions masseuse Rod Thornley, Capello was terrifying from day one during his stint as England boss, and exploded into a rage and started throwing butter around during the squad's first meal together.

"The lads come in and there's one big table for the players. That had never been done before, it was always loads of little tables," Thornley told the Fore Four 2 Podcast.
"The players get the food, they sit down, [and] just as the lads are tucking in, Capello jumps up [and shouts] 'NOOO', screaming 'NOOO'. And he sees the butter on the table, 'BUTTER NO', starts throwing the butter off the table screaming 'NO BUTTER'."
The players nervously finished their meals, but were too scared to get up and leave in case it would set Capello off again, prompting a skittish Wes Brown to ask Thornley if it was OK.
Is Fabio Capello the scariest manager of all time? If not, then tell us who is in the comments section below.
After getting the green light from Capello, Thornley relayed the message to Brown, but as the Manchester United defender left the table with two of his team-mates, Capello exploded again.
"'NOOO', he was up again," Thornley revealed. "He said: 'You will all go or all stay!' That was his way, and that was how he started."
Capello lasted just over four years in the Three Lions hot seat, but only led them into one international competition, having resigned a few months before Euro 2012.
His intimidating presence did little to transform England from perennial underachievers into winners, with the team putting in an underwhelming, incohesive showing at the 2010 World Cup, bowing out at the last 16 stage after getting demolished by Germany.
