FA CUP SEMI-FINAL DRAW: Manchester City to face Sheffield United at Wembley, as Brighton await either Manchester United or Fulham

Brighton will face the winners of the tie between Manchester United or Fulham in the FA Cup semi-finals, while Manchester City have been drawn against Sheffield United at Wembley.

Brighton eased into the semi-finals with a 5-0 win over Grimsby Town on Sunday, with Evan Ferguson scoring twice.

The draw, which took place moments after the quarter-final win, paired Roberto De Zerbi’s side against fellow Premier League opposition at Wembley next month.

The Seagulls will await the winners of the last quarter-final tie between Manchester United or Fulham.

Brighton will be seeking to reach the FA Cup final for the first time since 1983.

Championship promotion chasers Sheffield United will meet reigning Premier League champions Man City in the second semi-final. 

The Blades booked their place in the last four with a dramatic quarter-final win over fellow Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

Tommy Doyle, on loan from Man City, scored an injury time winner to set up a match against his parent club.

Doyle and fellow Man City loanee Jamie McAtee will not be able to play for Sheffield United in the semi-final.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side twice came from behind in the quarter-final, before earning a 3-2 win.

The Blades face the daunting challenge of Man City next month in their first FA Cup semi-final since 2014.

Pep Guardiola’s team crushed Championship leaders Burnley 6-0 on Saturday to reach the semi-finals.

City are seeking to win the FA Cup for the seventh time, with their last triumph coming in 2019.

FA Cup semi-final matches will be played over the weekend of Saturday, April 22.
