Ex-Spurs star Mido launches scathing attack on Levy over managerial appointment
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Mido has slammed Daniel Levy's approach to hiring managers as the club continue their search for a Jose Mourinho replacement.
Mourinho left Spurs in April after a poor run of form, with Ryan Mason placed in temporary charge of the side until the end of the campaign.
With Mason now gone, the Lilywhites have stepped up their pursuit of a new boss but are yet to make an appointment.
It appeared as though former Chelsea coach Antonio Conte was in the frame for the job at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, though talks between the Italian and the Spurs chairman have broken down.
Mido has since taken to social media to express his frustration at the situation, aiming fire at Levy in the process.
"#tottenham fans should know better," he wrote on Twitter.
"Daniel Levy will never bring any manger in who wants full control of the football decisions will never bring in a demanding manager!! That’s why he sacked Poch [Mauricio Pochettino] when he started to ask for more players when he started to compare his team to [Manchester] City."
Spurs missed out on securing European football for the 2021/22 campaign after a disappointing seventh-place Premier League finish.

The north London side also ended the season outside of the top-four for the second year running, and the Egyptian striker has criticised the club's desire to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
Mido added: "Building a new stadium is great for the owners it allows them to make more money but it means nothing to the fans! Fans want to see their team signing the best players and the best managers around #spurs need at least 4 top players all around and a top manager #COYS."
Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was linked with a remarkable return to the club, though this is a move that now seems unlikely to occur.
PSG recently triggered a one-year extension to Pochettino's current contract, keeping him at the French club until 2023.
