Ex-Premier League star with ‘cheating c***’ ex is trolled and sent off for dive

A dating site for married people took aim at former Premier League footballer Greg Halford following his social media dumping of a "cheating c***" ex.

The 38-year-old caused a storm on social media after posting a clip of clothes being thrown out a window onto the driveway – which a company have referenced with an advert on his return to the pitch.

While featuring for non-league side Hashtag United, Halford was met by an advertising board with an unmistakable reference to the former Portsmouth man.

The website is targeted at married people who are 'looking for a little romance outside their current relationship'.

Halford, wearing the number 15, was seen running past the board, with the message saying: "Discreet cheating. Where getting caught goes out of the window."

With Hashtag United going on to win 3-2 at Wroxham, Halford had a nightmare in getting sent off and dating site IllicitEncounters.com had the last laugh after he received a second yellow for what the referee deemed to be a dive.

The initial clip was posted on January 21 and included boxes and clothes being tossed from an open window, which was shared by the footballer to his 43,000 followers.

He wrote in a caption: "Been far far too long but finally clearing out the cheating c*** ex stuff." Former team-mate Craig Fagan then replied: "Hope you're all good mate."

Halford began his career with Colchester United before joining Reading then Sunderland, where he made his Premier League debut.

The versatile star would go on to play for Wolves, Portsmouth, Nottingham Forest and Cardiff among others, joining Hashtag from Billericay Town in 2022.

Hashtag, who were founded and are owned by YouTube star Spencer Owen, sit second in the Isthmian League North Division following 19 wins from 23 matches.

With only the champions going up automatically, they have some work to do if they are to play in the Premier Division next season, which is the seventh tier of English football.
