Mino Raiola has done all he can to ensure Erling Haaland’s next move is the most anticipated in world football. The Norwegian has done all the work on the pitch, but Raiola has made sure that off it, he is still big news.

The super agent is never afraid to discuss his clients and his treatment of the Borussia Dortmund forward has been a masterclass in promotion.

Raiola recently went on a tour of some of Europe’s biggest clubs in order to drum up interest in the most in-demand player in Europe.

Before that, he admitted that moving him from RB Salzburg to Dortmund may have been a mistake

He told The Athletic: “With Haaland, everybody was wrong. He did things much quicker than everybody imagined.

“‘Haaland is in front of his own development. He is ahead of his own schedule.

“Maybe I was too careful when I said, ‘Oh no, let’s move to Dortmund instead of I-don’t-know-where.’

“This boy — I’m 100 per cent convinced and everybody’s convinced — can move to any club, wherever he wants, already on this level. And he could have done that last year.

“But maybe last year there were still teams (saying), ‘Oh, he was in Red Bull [Salzburg], can he do it in another club?’.

“He is quicker than his own prediction. So yeah, Haaland is the talk of the town.”

Shortly after, Raiola offered an update, claiming that Dortmund have no intention of selling their most prized asset.

“I can confirm that I’ve been in Dortmund. Michael Zorc – Dortmund’s sporting director – made very clear that they don’t want to sell Erling,” he explained.

“I respect it but it doesn’t mean that I agree. There is no war between me and Dortmund.”

And most recently, the Italian dropped a major hint about Haaland’s next move, claiming that sporting success will supersede anything else in the negotiations.

“Haaland is interested in two things: scoring goals – because he is like a Cristiano or a Zlatan, he has that positive obsession – and winning titles,” Raiola told AS.

“He will choose, surely, where those two things together happen more. It is very difficult to lie.

“When a club like Barcelona or Madrid arrives, with so much history and so great, it is difficult to say no.

“PSG is entering this group of greats, City is trying to get there, Juve has always been there.

“The championship they play also matters. PSG plays the worst league of the greats.

“Bayern are already in an attractive league, but we know that they always win it. In Spain there are three with options.”

“He has to tell me when all things are clear in my head and I can make a menu, and put it on his plate: we have that, this and this… And now we can’t.

“What we know today is that Dortmund spoke very seriously with us and said: ‘We-don’t-see-we-do’. And this is the sure thing.”
