Everything Mbappe’s said about Liverpool as Reds emerge as PSG ace’s only option
Kylian Mbappe's future is up in the air once again, with Liverpool reportedly his only option if he chooses to leave Paris Saint-Germain.
The 23-year-old only signed a new three-year deal in the summer, ending speculation that he would move to the Reds, or more likely at the time, Real Madrid. But a new report from Spanish outlet Marca claims that the relationship between Mbappe and PSG is broken, prompting speculation of a split in January.
Marca's report adds that PSG agreed to allow the forward to leave in the summer – just not for Real Madrid – before he eventually put pen to paper on a new mega-money deal. And with the French giants still refusing to let Mbappe join Madrid, a blockbuster switch to Liverpool "could be the only option."

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Mbappe revealed he had spoken to Liverpool before about a move. "We talked a little bit, but not too much," he said.
"We talked a little bit, I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool. I don’t know why, you will have to ask her! It’s a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It’s a big club."

During the Covid-19 enforced shutdown of the Premier League, Mbappe lavished praise on Liverpool and Klopp for their performance during the campaign.
Speaking to the Mirror, he said: "This season, Liverpool have been a machine in the Premier League. They have made winning look easy but the truth is that it is never easy.
"Performances like they have been having don’t just happen. To be as ruthless as they have been would come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager."
January 2020
Mbappe's interest in Liverpool extends back to midway through the 2019-20 season, the year the Reds won league. Chatting in January 2020, the ex-Monaco man praised the club's "amazing" form as they edged closer to the Premier League title.
"What Liverpool do in this moment is amazing," he told the BBC. "They're like a machine, they've found a rhythm and are like 'we play again, we play again'.
"They've lost zero games. When you watch you think everything's easy but that's not easy. The guys are focused, they play games every three days and they win, they win, they win.
"Now the problem is that everybody watches Liverpool , and everybody watches what we can do against them, so now they have to show they are strong again but it's a very good team with a very good manager."
