Everton want Gilmour in return as Chelsea prepare second Gordon bid
Everton are ready to ramp up their efforts to sign Billy Gilmour as Chelsea look to make another bid for Anthony Gordon before the end of the transfer window, Daily Star Sport understands.
Frank Lampard is a huge fan of the midfielder and knows him well from his time in charge at the Blues. The Toffees have been interested in Gilmour all summer but are ready to open talks over bringing in the Scotsman over the coming weeks.
It comes amid strong efforts from the Blues to sign Gordon after a £40million bid was rejected on Sunday. Chelsea are expected to come back in with another offer which could total over £50m, though Lampard is desperate to keep hold of the winger – who he made a key player in the squad last season.

However, the Everton manager knows that he might not be able to stand in the England Under-21 international's way should another bid come in for his services. Personal terms are not expected to be a problem while Thomas Tuchel is a huge fan of the 21-year-old.
Lampard wants to see Everton sign Gilmour in a separate transfer, Daily Star Sport understands, despite Todd Boehly touting the idea of swap deals. The American has looked to utilise such a deal throughout the window despite it being something of a rarity in the transfer market.
Toffees star Abdoulaye Doucoure is facing a spell on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring against Aston Villa while Amadou Onana signed from Lille in a club-record deal. Nevertheless, Lampard is keen on players he knows with Gilmour ticking that box.
Should Billy Gilmour make the move to Everton? Comment below
The Scotland international appears to have no future at Chelsea under Tuchel, who has not even handed him a squad number this season. Gilmour was also sent home early from the pre-season tour of the United States, along with Harvey Vale and Armando Broja.
Everton have also been linked with Michy Batshuayi as they look to sign a striker after losing Richarlison to Tottenham and the Belgian could still be part of a deal before the end of the window.
But the injury to Doucoure against Villa on Saturday has alerted Lampard to the lack of depth in central midfield, where Andre Gomes, Allan and Jean-Philippe Gbamin continue to sit on the sidelines.
