Everton stars down beers in changing room celebrating Premier League survival

Everton players chugged beers while celebrating in their dressing room after securing Premier League survival against Crystal Palace on Thursday night.

Frank Lampard’s side suffered a disastrous start to their penultimate Premier League game of the season at Goodison Park. The Toffees went 2-0 down before half-time, but produced a historic comeback in the second-half to clinch an emphatic 3-2 win after goals from Michael Keane, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The final whistle sparked wild scenes as Everton fans took to the pitch to celebrate with their heroes, but the celebrations continued until long after in the home side’s changing room.

Midfielder Alex Iwobi posted a series of clips and photos to his Snapchat story which showed the raucous atmosphere inside the Everton changing room. Players and staff alike could be seen cheering and chanting as the euphoria of Premier League survival continued.

Iwobi filmed himself and winger Demarai Gray swigging a bottle of beer before recording teammate Mason Holgate doing the same. Holgate was in great spirits, showing off his questionable dance moves while singing along to Sean Kingston’s iconic ‘Beautiful Girls’.

Meanwhile, first-team coach Ashley Cole was at the centre of the celebrations as he sprayed booze all over the dressing room. Goodison icon Duncan Ferguson also appeared to be in the thick of it.

Everton will end their nerve-wracking season with a trip to Arsenal on Sunday, where they can enjoy the outcome without fear of being relegated.
