Everton have unveiled their new home kit ahead of the 2023-24 Premier League season, and have made one significant change from last year.

The shirt, produced by one of the club’s technical partners hummel, features a collar for the first time in a decade.

Goodison Park’s famous Archibald Leitch pattern has been woven into the white collar, and the same pattern is present on the trim of the sleeves.

Toffees winger Dwight McNeil has hailed the design, and is looking forward to donning the new shirt next term.

‘I like what hummel have done with the kit, giving it a retro look and bringing elements of Goodison into it that I think fans will really appreciate,’ he told Everton’s official website after modelling the kit for a promotional shoot.

‘Goodison – and the fans – are obviously massive to us and I can’t wait to be wearing this shirt when the season kicks off.’

The tribute to Goodison on the shirt comes ahead of what is set to be Everton’s final full season at the iconic stadium.

The Toffees have played their home games there since 1892, but are preparing to move into their new 52,000-seater stadium on the Bramley-Moore Dock during the 2024-25 season.

McNeil was just one of a number of Everton stars pictured in the new strip, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Demarai Gray and Jordan Pickford among the others to strike a pose for the cameras.

This comes amid transfer interest in Gray and Pickford in recent weeks.

Gray has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal, while Crystal Palace are also monitoring the forward.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are keeping tabs on England goalkeeper Pickford, with David de Gea’s future looking increasingly uncertain.

But Gray and Pickford remain on Everton’s books for now, and were happy to show off the new kit, with the club releasing a video for the fans to see on Thursday morning.

Everton will be desperate to bounce back from successive relegation scraps when they return to action in August.

Sean Dyche’s team avoided the drop on the final day of last season, having only narrowly escaped relegation the previous year under Frank Lampard.
