Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma is an option as Everton seek to bolster their attack
The deal represents reasonable business for the 24-year old who had yet to make a competitive first team appearance for the club. Another young forward Tom Cannon is expected to join Preston North End on loan.
However, there is an increasing clamour for Everton to bolster their attack with a top level striker as requested by Lampard.
Sportsmail reported they have been rebuffed in a bid to sign Danny Ings on loan with an option as Aston Villa are looking for an outright sale.
The 25-year old has been on the radar of Champions League clubs over recent seasons
They have also checked on Lorient pair Terem Meffi and Dango Ouattarra but face competition from clubs who can pay fees now.
Danjuma, formerly of Bournemouth, is another on their list but as yet talks are at a tentative stage as they weigh up all options.
The 25-year old has been on the radar of Champions League clubs over recent seasons and has scored 22 goals in 51 games since moving to Spain in a £22m deal.
