Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola makes prediction about summer transfer window

The Premier League's richest clubs are poised to find themselves locked in a desperate battle to sign Erling Haaland this summer.

Haaland has become one of the hottest properties in world football after plundering 27 goals in 25 appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season.

The Norwegian international has a £70m release clause in his contract that will be activated in June 2022.

Dortmund could will be willing to sell him in the next transfer window provided the price is right – and are expected to demand in the region of £130m for the 20-year-old sensation.

Manchester City have targeted Haaland as the man Pep Guardiola wants to replace record scorer Sergio Aguero, who is expected to leave the Etihad this summer when his current deal expires.

But Haaland's agent Mino Raiola admits the billionaires will have strong competition from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool when it comes to luring Haaland to the Premier League.

Raiola reckons Haaland will be the next superstar of world football following Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

He believes less than a dozen clubs could realistically sign Haaland – and that four of them are English.

Speaking to the BBC, Raiola said: "The problem that I feel that you have in England is that, whenever I tell my opinion, an opinion that I have, everybody in England goes berserk and I'm the worst agent.

"The clubs get so stressed by it, including the public and the journalists, that I've learned not to talk about it so much, but only during the market.

"But it is obvious though that everybody is looking at Erling as one of those potential new future stars. It's so difficult to do what he does at his age, at this level.

"He will be one of the future stars for the next decade – because we see people like (Zlatan) Ibrahimovich, Cristiano Ronaldo and (Lionel) Messi coming to a certain age. How long can we still enjoy them?

"So everyone is looking for the new generation and it's obvious there are only a maximum of 10 clubs that can afford to buy him.

"We can fill in four of those clubs – and four of those clubs are in England. You can call them and say 'would you be interested?'

There is not a sporting director or trainer in the world that would say he would be not be interested."
