Erling Haaland could land his dream shirt number at Chelsea if he was to make the Stamford Bridge transfer.

The Norwegian is being eyed up by Europe’s biggest clubs as Borussia Dortmund look to sell their top stars this summer.

While Manchester United and Manchester City are in the mix, it is Chelsea that appear to be at the head of the pack as Roman Abramovich looks to bring in a top-scoring forward.

They have the lure of Champions League football as winners while a potential ‘swap deal’ with Tammy Abraham would sweeten the deal for the Bundesliga side.

But football.London have reported that the Blues can offer something to Haaland that he is looking for.

Haaland has worn several different shirt numbers through his career, including 17, 19 and 30 while he dons the 23 for Norway.

But the 9, which he currently has at Dortmund, is occupied at Chelsea by Abraham – but the report states the uncertainty over his future would leave the shirt open.

The Englishman has been at the club since seven years old, graduating from the academy in 2016 before enjoying loan spells at Bristol City, Swansea and Aston Villa.

And he was given a chance in the first-team by Frank Lampard in 2019, scoring 18 goals in his first campaign.

New manager Thomas Tuchel, though, has pushed the 23-year-old to the side – despite being the club’s joint-top scorer alongside Timo Werner.

Having been snubbed for the FA Cup and Champions League finals, it has seen teams such as West Ham and Aston Villa register interest in Abraham.

But Haaland tripled his numbers this season, averaging a goal per game from his 41 appearances for Dortmund this season.

It puts the 20-year-old on 133 goals for club and country, leading the report to state that Chelsea will be looking at a £150m fee to pry the youngster away from Germany.

Tuchel has not been put off, though, and is willing to sacrifice two Champions League winners in order to secure the forward.
