Erling Haaland remains happy at Borussia Dortmund but the striker has already laid out one key condition ahead of his next move. The 20-year-old Norwegian sensation has only been in Germany for just over a year but interest in his signature is already beginning to mount.
With a series of iconic No 9s including Robert Lewandowski, Karim Benzema, Sergio Aguero, Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic all approaching the tail end of their careers, there is huge demand for young centre-forwards.
Haaland is evidently the cream of the crop and clubs are now beginning to form an orderly queue.
His release clause, believed to be in the region of £65million, does not become active until the summer of 2022.
It means that any club looking to prise Haaland away from Borussia Dortmund this summer will have to pay a bumper fee, way above that.

Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League status is currently under threat and it remains clear that Haaland wants to continue playing in Europe’s elite club competition.
There has even been some suggestion that Dortmund may have to cash in on their most prized assets, should they failed to secure qualification.
While Haaland is in no immediate rush to seal his next move, he is understood to have a requirement in mind over any future transfer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, who was speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Haaland will only join a club where he will be a 100 percent starter.

That could cause complications at two of his potential destinations in the form of Liverpool and Real Madrid.
When Diogo Jota is fit, competition for places in attack at Anfield is already incredibly high with Jurgen Klopp still reluctant to drop Roberto Firmino.
In Madrid, Karim Benzema remains Zinedine Zidane’s main man and it’s hard to see the striker forming a partnership with Haaland.
Meanwhile, there is no question that Haaland would walk straight into Manchester United and Manchester City’s starting XI.
Edinson Cavani’s long-term future at the club is still yet to be decided, while City have been operating without Aguero for the majority of the season.
There is no doubt that Haaland is a player worth building your team around and any manager who signed him is likely to do just that.
His agent Mino Raiola recently made it clear his client is happy in Dortmund while dismissing speculation regarding a move to Real Madrid.
“I can’t talk about Haaland’s release clause,” he said. “Rumours say that Real Madrid want him? This is not new to me. But he is very happy with Borussia Dortmund.
“Erling wants to win the UCL. When he’ll leave the club, it will be for his ambition and not for money.”
