Erling Haaland hits two goals and assists two in bold message to Premier League
Erling Haaland has scored two goals and assisted another two in his opening Bundesliga game to send a bold message to the Premier League.
The Norwegian has once again been the talk of the transfer window, with clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United all linked with his signature.
And he has even expressed his ‘dream’ of playing in the English top-flight.
But many are expected to wait until next summer, when the 21-year-old will have two years left on his current Borussia Dortmund contract.
It has not fazed his performance on the pitch, though, as the forward returned to Bundesliga action with a sensational tally in Dortmund’s 5-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt to send a strong message to his admirers.
Haaland played a crucial role to get the scoring started after 23 minutes, charging towards the defence before putting it on a plate for Marco Reus.
And the 21-year-old was part of another counter-attack when the scores were levelled, setting up Thorgan Hazard to slot into the net.
Two minutes later, though, the forward had his first league goal of the season.

Haaland latched onto a loose ball behind the Frankfurt defence before sprinting away and slotting it past Kevin Trapp.
He almost had a second goal on the hour, shooting from inside the box only for his shot to be blocked by Makoto Hasebe.
But the Japanese midfielder’s deflection fell straight into the path of Giovanni Reyna, who was able to cooly slot into an open net.
12 minutes later, though, Haaland did have his brace – this time Reus finding the 21-year-old running clear before shoving off a tackle and curling into the bottom-right corner.
It means that, with just two games of the first round of Bundesliga fixtures left, Haaland is already top of the scoring charts.
Another team who will also have been watching Haaland’s performance, though, is Bayern Munich as they have also entered the race for his signature.
