Erling Haaland and Timo Werner could join Man Utd as Rangnick eyes four stars
Erling Haaland and Timo Werner could both join Manchester United as interim boss Ralf Rangnick eyes moves for four players.
The German is reportedly prepared to make an attempt to sign Haaland while in his role at Old Trafford and is hopeful he can convince the prolific Norwegian to join the club.
He is also eyeing a reunion with Chelsea striker Werner next summer, who he managed for a season while at RB Leipzig back in 2018/19.
In addition, United are also understood to have two current Leipzig midfielders on their transfer shortlist in the form of Christopher Nkunku and Amadou Haidara.
German outlet Bild report that Rangnick intends to use his relationship with Haaland's father and agent Alf-Inge in his attempts to sign the in-demand striker.
Rangnick knows Haaland's father well and was also sporting director at Red Bull Salzburg when Haaland scored 29 goals in 27 matches for the Austrian side.
Haaland returned from injury at the weekend and scored for Borussia Dortmund as they came from behind to beat Wollsburg, taking his league tally to 50 goals in 50 Bundesliga matches.
The same report outlines Rangnick's plans to bring Werner to Old Trafford next summer, despite him struggling for form at Chelsea.

Werner played under Rangnick three seasons ago at Leipzig, scoring 19 goals and providing 10 assists in 37 matches.
The final player mentioned by Bild is in-form French under-21 international Nkunku, who was previously a target for Arsenal.
Nkunku has scored 13 goals and added nine assists already this season in 20 appearances for Leipzig.
This includes seven goals in five matches in a Champions League group which includes Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.
The Daily Mail also report that Nkunku's club teammate Haidara is also on Rangnick's transfer shortlist after he was announced as interim manager on Monday.
The Mali international was previously a target for Southampton back in 2018 and is capable of playing as a holding or box-to-box midfielder.
In a deeper role for the German club this season he has still managed to weigh in with three goals already.
United have also been linked with moves for Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior as well as Barcelona duo Gavi and Frenkie de Jong in recent days.
