England striker Ivan Toney picks ultimate five-a-side team – with Man City trio

England's newest striker Ivan Toney named a trio of Manchester City stars in his ultimate Premier League five-a-side team.

Toney, who has been called up to the national squad by Gareth Southgate for the first time ahead of the upcoming Nations League fixtures, had only four spots free after being asked to pick one of his Brentford team-mates.

Having filled that with midfielder Frank Onyeka, because "he's kicked near enough everyone on the training ground", he went on to pick Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero and Ederson in the interview with InchByInch.

Toney said he "had to put" De Bruyne and Ageuro in there, while Ederson got the nod in goal as he explained: "He can kick the ball further than I can drive my car."

The team was rounded off with the "definite" inclusion of Liverpool colossus Virgil van Dijk in defence, who Toney denied "fearing". He said: "Nah, I don’t think, he’s too nice.

"There’s scarier defenders out there, they look scarier as well. He doesn’t look scary, he’s too nice."

Toney has forced his way into Southgate's thinking this season with a fine start to the campaign, notching five goals and two assists in the Prem so far this season.

"With Ivan Toney, we have been tracking him for a long time. I had a good chat with Thomas Frank about him last season," Southgate said after his squad was announced.

"His form and his qualities – not only his goalscoring but his technical ability, build-up play and aerial prowess, gives us a different threat to some of the other players we could pick."
