England fans ‘don’t fear’ France in likely World Cup QF after Tunisia shambles

England fans "don't fear" playing France in the World Cup quarter-finals after their shambolic defeat to Tunisia.

Should they get past Senegal in their round-of-16 tie on Sunday (December 4), the Three Lions are on a collision course with the reigning world champions, who topped Group D despite losing their final game 1-0.

Didier Deschamps heavily rotated with his side already through to the knockout stages, but Tunisia's victory courtesy of Wahbi Khazri's second-half strike was still a stunning result which has left England supporters confident of beating them.

One tweeted: "After today I do not fear France if we have to play them. France are a one man team with Kylian Mbappe but England play as a squad."

"Pathetic performance from France. England could easily beat them in quarter-finals," claimed one. Another wrote: "France not looking good. England’s to lose!"

One similarly commented: "France is not invincible!" One posted: "Tunisia beating France and people say England don't have a chance."

Another said: "Nine changes for France was bound to happen but well done Tunisia great win now if we play France in the knockouts Southgate don’t show fear we can beat them. Come on England."

Star man Mbappe was rested against Tunisia, as were most of Deschamps' first XI. But their second string side remained strong, with Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate and Manchester United's Raphael Varane starting at the back.

The defeat was their first in the World Cup group stage since 2010. They'll face the runners-up in Group C in the last 16, with Argentina currently occupying second place ahead of their final match against leaders Poland tonight (November 30).
