England and Scotland shared the points at Wembley on Friday evening as Gareth Southgate's side were more than matched by Steve Clarke's visitors in Group D.
The Three Lions were expected to claim all three points having done so against World Cup finalists Croatia, with Scotland losing 2-0 at home to Czech Republic in their opener.
Despite that, Scotland got the first big chance through Che Adams, with England missing attempts of their own from Mason Mount and Phil Foden.
Daily Star Sport have rated how each England star performed following their 90 minute battle in the rain at Wembley, which proved to be a lacklustre follow up their recent victory.
JORDAN PICKFORD 8
Superb reflex stop to deny O’Donnell on 30 minutes as those doubts about him being nation’s number one pre-finals fade fast.
REECE JAMES 6
Given a torrid 45 minutes by Robertson and Dykes but slowly justified selection ahead of Walker. Blasted second half shot over.
JOHN STONES 8
Great block to deny Adams and then almost Almost snapped bar with towering 10th minute header. Offered stability at back.
TYRONE MINGS 7
He may not be first-choice but it will be harsh if he is replaced by Maguire after his second impressive outing.
LUKE SHAW 6
Recalled to line-up for Trippier but combination with Mount never really gelled. May now give way to Chilwell.
KALVIN PHILLIPS 7
Continued where he left off against Croatia. Mr Influencer received stern warning for usual tactical foul. Disciplined.
DECLAN RICE 7
Hammers’ England anchorman never looks flustered or hurried. Improves with every appearance and now seemingly undroppable.
MASON MOUNT 7
Helped England through sticky start. Perhaps should have opened scoring in first half and then well denied.
PHIL FODEN 6
Busy, always available and silky but, save a couple of mazy runs, he spent most of night frustrated by lack of support. Subbed.
RAHEEM STERLING 6
Pace scared Scots early on but was a little hurried when it really mattered in danger zone. Place under threat.
HARRY KANE 6
For second game on spin, Three Lions skipper never had a chance to show why he is most feared goalscorer on the planet .
Grealish (for Foden) 61, 6.
Huffed and puffed
Rashford (for Kane) 73, 6
