Emi Martinez caught taunting Man Utd fans after Bruno Fernandes penalty miss
Emiliano Martinez could be seen mocking Manchester United fans after Bruno Fernandes missed his penalty to give Aston Villa all three points.
The two teams met at Old Trafford on Saturday lunch time, with a late Kortney Hause header giving the visitors a 0-1 victory.
Villa’s centre back nearly quickly turned from hero to villain, as he conceded a penalty moments later for handball.
Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester, the big question has been, who will take spot kicks for United.
It turned out to be Fernandes who had the responsibility, and the opportunity to salvage a point for his side.
Despite his usual reliance in this situation, the 27-year-old could not convert, as he blasted the ball over the crossbar.
He had only previously missed once for United and has scored 21 in total.
Throughout his entire career, he has only failed to convert four out of 46, with Saturday a real rarity.
Villa goalkeeper Martinez was very pleased to see the ball fired well off target and could not hide his joy.
Turning to face the United fans behind him, he started move his shoulders and burst into a little dance.
His team mates then joined him, knowing they had done enough to secure the win.
Most Villa fans would’ve have reacted in a similar way, as this was their first win at Old Trafford since a Gabriel Agbonlahor winner in 2009.
