Dortmund boss’ hilarious "s****ing in his pants" response to Rangers question

Borussia Dortmund ace Giovanni Reyna is more accustomed to being opposite Rangers’ manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst at a dinner table.

However, instead of passing the salt and pepper, Reyna will be looking to pass around the Scottish giants in their Round of 32 Europa League clash.

The American international’s father Claudio competed alongside van Bronckhorst during their time together at Rangers, and the youngster is named after the Rangers boss.

But with van Bronckhorst at the Ibrox helm and Reyna starring for Dortmund, the regular family friends will find themselves in the unfamiliar position of competing against each other.

And Dortmund boss Marco Rose drew attention to Reyna’s relationship with the Dortmund boss, stating the Dutchman has known 19-year-old American since he used to “s*** his pants”.

"It's really cool that things like this can happen in football; being the godfather and meeting at that level now,” Rose said before the contest.

"I think if Gio (Reyna) plays he wants to show to his godfather, or name-giver, what he learned over the years.

"I think Van Bronckhorst already knew him when Gio (Reyna) still s*** in his pants.

"I know they meet privately every now and then, and the focus is now on being successful, but of course it's a nice story."

Reyna was named after the legendary right-back, who captained the Netherlands to the 2010 World Cup final.

And van Bronckhorst also expressed his pride that he will be watching his side line up against his god son.

"I played with his father, Claudio, and I'm very good friends with the whole family actually," he said.

"Gio I've known from the day he was born so I have a special relationship with him as a friend but also as a player.

"We have always kept in contact and seen each other at least once a year. It is a special bond I have with the Reyna family and it will be special for both of us to play against each other.”
