Donny van de Beek finds Hakim Ziyech’s lookalike at World Cup of Darts
Manchester United star Donny van de Beek had fans in stitches as he found former team-mate Hakim Ziyech’s lookalike at the World Cup of Darts.
The Dutchman was left looking over his shoulder this summer as speculation grew over his future following a torrid debut season at Old Trafford.
Yet to make an appearance this season, it saw his agent berate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side for ‘blocking’ a transfer to Everton.
But his latest social media activity suggests Van de Beek is not too concerned as he enjoyed watching the World Cup of Darts.
The four-day tournament started on Thursday, with Gibraltar and Singapore playing a first-round match at Sparkassen-Arena, Germany.
Justin Hewitt had stepped up to the ockey in the first leg, with the British Overseas Territory just ahead of their opponents.
And Van de Beek beloved that the 19-year-old shared a very similar look to his former Ajax team-mate Ziyech, currently on the books at Chelsea.
Posting to his Instagram story, the 24-year-old published a grab of it while tagging the Moroccan and saying in Dutch: “also present.”
Do you think Donny van de Beek should start for Manchester United against Newcastle? Let us know in the comments section.
Van de Beek may have an opportunity to show his value to Solskjaer in the upcoming Premier League clash with Newcastle.
This is because regular midfield starter Fred is caught up in Premier League sides’ feud with the Brazilian FA, who have triggered a FIFA rule that allows the country to ban their players representing their clubs for five days.
Having started all three English top-flight games this season, there is a space to be filled which the 24-year-old could be called on to do.
And Solskjaer has alluded previously to opportunities rising for the Dutchman, who made just four Premier League starts last season.
Speaking last month, the United boss said; "When you’ve [only] got a game every eight days, it’s hard for a manager when you’ve got the quality of the players I’ve got.
“But when we come back from the international break, there will be games for everyone. The balance has to be there between consistency and rotation.
“Donny knows that when he keeps on performing and training how he does for us, he’ll be fit and ready when he plays."
