Dimitar Berbatov’s Premier League predictions including Man City vs Chelsea
This weekend’s Premier League action gets underway Friday night with some huge fixtures on the way as we reach the business end of the season.
In a dress rehearsal of the Champions League final, Manchester City host Chelsea in the pick of action on Saturday.
Manchester United begin a run of three games in five days when they take on Aston Villa on Sunday with West Ham United hosting Everton in a game that will have huge ramifications on the race for European qualification.
As ever, Betfair Ambassador Dimitar Berbatov previews the action for Metro.co.uk.
Leeds vs Tottenham
That is a massive game. Leeds play brave football and attack. That could open gaps for Spurs, but they may also find Leeds scoring goals. Spurs let in easy goals so I’m saying a draw. Prediction 2-2.
Betfair Exchange odds: Leeds 13/5, Spurs Evens, Draw 3/1
Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace
I don’t think this is a game I’ll be watching to be honest. Sheffield United will be thinking about next season ass will Palace. Both teams are on the beach, and I can see this one being a boring draw. Prediction 1-1.
Betfair Exchange odds: Sheffield United 2/1, Crystal Palace 8/5, Draw 12/5
Man City vs Chelsea
Massive game. City are riding high as are Chelsea. Both teams know each other. City can win the title if they win on Saturday, but I don’t think it will give them a psychological boost for the Champions League final if they win. Prediction 1-1.
Betfair Exchange odds: Manchester City Evens, Chelsea 100/30, Draw 13/5
Liverpool vs Southampton
Liverpool should win this. It’s a tough time for the club, and they have a lot to do if they want to get European football next season, but they have enough quality to win this. Prediction 2-1.
Betfair Exchange odds: Liverpool 1/3, Southampton 10/1, Draw 5/1
Wolves vs Brighton
Wolves have disappointed this season, they will be looking forward to a little break so that they can regroup and prepare to do much better next season. Brighton know they will be safe if they can get all three points, but I can’t see that happening. Prediction 1-1.
Betfair Exchange odds: Wolves 12/5, Brighton 11/8, Draw – 12/5
Aston Villa vs Man Utd
No surprise but I’ll go for United in this one. Ole’s men are riding high at the moment, but I want to see them maintain the second position in the league. Aston Villa are playing for nothing which can lead to a drop in motivation. Prediction 0-3.
Betfair Exchange odds: Villa 7/2, United 5/6, Draw 3/1
West Ham vs Everton
West Ham are having a fairytale season and hopefully they can get Champions League football as they deserve it. It isn’t going to be easy and they need Chelsea to drop some points. I do like the look of their fixtures though.
Everton have really dropped off recently, they were in contention for top four but now they are pretty much playing for nothing. Prediction 2-0.
Betfair Exchange odds: West Ham 11/8, Everton 12/5, Draw 5/2
Arsenal vs West Brom
It’s been disappointing week for Arsenal, but they should win this one and I believe it’s a must win for them, they have to put the disappointment behind them and try to end the season on a high by winning their remaining games. Prediction 2-1.
Betfair Exchange odds: Arsenal 1/2, West Brom 13/2, Draw 4/1
Fulham vs Burnley
Fulham need to win if Newcastle win. I feel for my old club. Relegation, then promotion then relegation. Burnley are safe too if they win. I’ll support my former team Fulham. They’ve been unlucky in some games. Prediction 1-0.
Betfair Exchange odds: Fulham 5/4, Burnley 12/5, Draw 5/2
