Dennis Bergkamp’s message to Donny van de Beek over legend’s daughter Estelle

Dennis Bergkamp has warned Donny van de Beek he's got his eye on him as the Manchester United midfielder dates the Arsenal legend's daughter.

Van de Beek had been dating Bergkamp's eldest daughter Estelle for around a year when he joined United from Ajax in a £40million move last summer.

Estelle, who was born in London while Bergkamp was with the Gunners, has since moved to Manchester where she is an entrepreneur.

Bergkamp knows his daughter boyfriend well, having coached Van de Beek when the Red Devils man was a young boy dreaming of becoming a top footballer.

But that hasn't stopped the Invincibles icon from sending the 23-year-old a cheeky reminder that he's watching him.

“In my first season when I became a youth coach, Donny was in my team when he was 11 or 12,” Bergkamp told The Athletic.

With tongue firmly in cheek, he added: “Then I already had an eye on him, so I know how he is and I can protect my daughter if I need to."

Estelle grew up well versed in English football, having been photographed with her dad on the pitch as a child, and held the Premier League trophy.

The pair have posted plenty of pictures of themselves looking loved up on social media, with Van de Beek having shared a snap on Instagram of himself and Estelle frolicking in the sea together around the time he signed for United.

After her boyfriend’s move to Old Trafford, Estelle posted a loving message on her personal Instagram account.

It read: “My love, I am so proud of you. For everything you have achieved until now and for all that is to come.

"I will always be by your side and will always support you for you to succeed at your best. Can’t wait to go back to England with you and live our dream! All my love."
