Darren Fletcher showed his true feelings in reaction to Paul Pogba moment

Paul Pogba continued his Manchester United resurgence at Turf Moor, dragging his teammates to a priceless win.

With the chance to go top of the Premier League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side faced a resillient Burnley side, who themselves were desperate for a result.

And it looked like it could be a case of two dropped points for United, until Pogba took the game by the bootstraps with a moment of true brilliance.

The volley may have taken a deflection, but the World Cup winner’s poise was clear to see as he struck home Marcus Rashford’s cross.

It was a moment that left Solskjaer punching the air on the sideline, with the latest addition to his coaching staff doing similar.

Darren Fletcher, who was sat high in the stands with United’s analysts, jumped to his feet when the ball hit the back of the net, with his roar piercing the empty stadium.

Often a midfielder for the big occasion, Sir Alex Ferguson relied on his compatriot’s passion to drive United through some of the biggest games of his spell in the dugout.

Following his retirement, the Scot would often be seen in the away end, travelling with United fans up and down the country. That excitement has taken no hit, despite now being back with the club on a professional capacity.

And it’s hard not to be excited. After years of failing to live up to his lofty transfer fee, Pogba is now showing the kind of consistency that so many have been asking from him.

In the last two Premier League games, where United first closed the gap and then usurped Liverpool, the Frenchman has been their talisman.

United now head to Anfield above their old rivals, in a position they haven’t found themselves in since Ferguson’s final season in 2012/13.

"It will be a beautiful game for everyone," Pogba told BBC Sport.

"It's a big game coming up so let's get ready for it.

"We knew if we won tonight we would be top of the league when we play Liverpool.

"We have to keep calm, now it is the big moment. We will see what is going to happen."

While Pogba demands calm from his United teammates, their passionate new coach is driving them to reclaim their seat at the top of the English game.
