Danny Rose has been spotted playing for Tottenham U21s, despite still having a year left on his contract at Watford.

The 32-year-old spent 13 years at Spurs before joining the Hornets on a free transfer, but appears to be looking for a way out after making just nine appearances last season.

In a video posted on Twitter by The Spurs Web, Rose is seen playing is his usual left back position for the North London side in a pre-season friendly against Enfield Town.

Jose Mourinho famously fell out with the fullback in his time as Tottenham manager

According to reports in the Watford Observer, Rose is training with Tottenham at his own request as he looks to force a move away from Vicarage Road.

The  England international fell out of favour under former manager Claudio Ranieri, and played his most recent Watford game in December.

It seems highly unlikely that Rose will stay at the club given that he has started training elsewhere.

Fans may still be surprised to see the fullback back at Hotspur Way, though, after his famously explosive exit from the club.

Rose had become an important player in Mauricio Pochettino’s side but struggled for game time following Jose Mourinho’s appointment as manager in November 2019.

The pair fell out publicly, as Rose’s rant in the manager’s office about his lack of playtime was shown in the ‘All or Nothing’ Amazon Documentary.

The left back was loaned out to Newcastle shortly afterwards, and failed to make an appearance the following season.

Watford offered him a way back by offering him a contract last summer, but the man who burst onto the scene with a North London derby goal on debut now appears to be looking for a new club once again.
