Cristiano Ronaldo spotted working on fitness topless as Al-Nassr teammates score

Cristiano Ronaldo watched his Al-Nassr teammates beat Al Tae'e 2-0 from the sidelines while working on his fitness topless.

The 37-year-old superstar missed his new club’s Saudi Pro League match on Friday after being suspended by the English FA for two games.

Ronaldo’s punishment, which came after he knocked a phone out of an Everton fan’s hand back in April with Manchester United, carried on to his new side – where he recently signed a mammoth £173million-a-year contract.

He had to settle for a seat in the stands as he waved to fans ahead of the game. And he later watched on from the changing room, where his reaction to Talisca’s second goal was captured and posted on social media.

The Portuguese star was filmed watching the match on a screen while exercising on a bike machine without his top on. He appeared to appreciate his teammate’s goal as he applauded the strike – which came straight after half-time.

Ronaldo’s suspension comes in accordance to FIFA's Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP). It claims that any sanction of up to four matches that has been issued to a player by their former association must be "enforced by the new association."

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will also miss Al Nassr's fixture against Riyadh rivals Al Shabab next week. Ronaldo’s opportunity to finally play for his new club could come against Al-Ettifaq at Mrsool Park on January 22.

He could potentially even make his debut before that in a match against legendary rival Lionel Messi. A Saudi All-Star XI is due to take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Riyadh Season Cup, which could bring the long-term foes face-to-face once more.
