The superstar forward sustained the injuries in a horror collision with Czech Republic goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik during a 4-0 win on Saturday which saw blood pouring down his face.

Ronaldo was left bloodied, bruised and dazed after the incident but carried on after treatment

Vaclik and Ronaldo went up for a high ball, with the Olympiacos stopper’s arms accidentally smashing into his opponent’s face.

After receiving treatment on the pitch and when the blood was cleaned up, CR7 continued with a plaster on his nose, but did not score and gave away a penalty, ultimately missed by Patrik Schick.

Despite his injury, the 37-year-old is expected to play up front in his country’s last match before the Qatar World Cup in November, a Nations League clash with Iberian rivals Spain in Braga on Monday which will decide the winner of Group B.

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot scored a double either side of a Bruno Fernandes strike, with Ronaldo’s flick on from a corner prodded home by Liverpool’s Diogo Jota for the fourth late on.

The 2019 winners took full advantage of Spain’s loss against Switzerland to move two points clear at the top of Group A2.

Portugal must avoid defeat in their final group match against Spain to reach the semi-finals.
