  • Reports say Old Trafford chiefs are offering him £17m-a-year to return to United
  • Paul Pogba could also head the other way and return to Turin as part of the deal
  • Ronaldo’s preferred destination is PSG but deal is dependent on Kylian Mbappe
  • Sporting Lisbon and Real Madrid are other options for Portugal star this summer

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly the subject of a £17million-a-year offer from his old club Manchester United this summer – and Paul Pogba could head the other way to Juventus if the two sides can strike a deal.

The future of Portugal star Ronaldo is likely to be one of the biggest sagas of the summer window, with reports across Europe claiming that he is angling for a move out of Juventus after a tough season.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that PSG are his preferred option, but with no deal having yet been offered from the French giants, Manchester United are said to have swooped with a tempting proposition for their former player.

The Italian newspaper report that United are willing to pay Ronaldo £17m-a-year to bring him back to Old Trafford, and with Pogba’s situation at the club unclear, there could be scope for the Frenchman to go the other way as part of the deal.

Sporting Lisbon and Real Madrid are also being talked about as potential destinations for one of football’s finest ever players, but the finances could be an issue with a number of big clubs cash-strapped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

At Juventus, Max Allegri is keen on signing Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, leading to speculation that he has given up on Ronaldo and wants a new-look side following his return to the club.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, is happy to leave should an offer arrive that ‘satisfies him’, according to Gazzetta.

At United, there is still said to be heavy interest in Jadon Sancho, which would make any move for Ronaldo very unlikely this summer.

What’s more, Ronaldo currently earns close to £27m a year in salary and the 36-year-old is said to be confident he can secure a new deal close to those earnings.

PSG’s interest is dependent on the future of Kylian Mbappe, it has been reported, and Ronaldo would only arrive should the Frenchman depart over the summer.
